Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing across-the-board tariffs of 25 per cent on Canadian goods starting Tuesday and 10-per-cent tariffs on energy.


The 25-per-cent levy will be placed on goods from Canada and Mexico. Chinese goods will face an additional 10-per-cent tariff.


”The extraordinary threat posed by illegal aliens and drugs, including deadly fentanyl, constitutes a national emergency under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act,” according to a fact sheet document published by the White House Saturday.

Not saying to be nice. Gotta hit back hard. But hitting back in some way that lets Trump pretend he won is probably the faster course. Eventually people will riot, but it's not like everything goes up in price right away. It will take some time for the impacts to be felt.
