OT: American Politics

Seriously. One of the most powerful things about Nuremberg is that all/most of the big boys were dead and didn't face trial....but a bag of the underlings took it on the chin publicly and set the expectation around the world going forward that "following orders" wasn't a defence.

I'm good with that happening again. Trump dies of a jammer, Stephen Miller swallows a shotgun, but Bukele gets perp walked at The Hague.

It seems pretty quaint to me to expect there to ever be accountability.

Trump isn’t looking at 1930s Germany for his blueprint, he’s looking at 21st century Russia.

Constitutional term limits for President used to be a thing in Russia as well.

Trump's heart is playing phone tag with god. I still don't think this movement survives him and he's almost out of time.

Bukele is of Palestinian descent and his father was a religious Muslim leader in El Salvador.

What Bukele doesn’t realize is that he would be at the top of the list of the type of people Trump would want to send to his own Gulag.

The lack of self-awareness is crazy.
always is

Hopefully?

His dad lived to be 94, and his mom 88.

Trump is already incoherent and clearly insane and it doesn’t matter, so as long as he is breathing and can be carted out to cuss out immigrants, the movement survives IMO.

If Dotard lives as long as his dad, that’s another 16 years. At which time the 2020s sins of Stephen Miller will have been superseded by things much more sinister.

Trump is not dying and neither is his movement past his second presidency. The guy is a social media machine and will continue to run a shadow government regardless of who the president is.

yeah I'm not counting on that cockroach saving humanity by dying.

There’s so often no rhyme or reason to how long people live.

My fitness fanatic grandfather who had no chronic illnesses or physical ailments and, at the time was probably in better physical shape than any of his sons or grandchildren, died at 79.

One of his best friends, who got the hell blasted out of him in the Korean War and filled with shrapnel, was obese for his entire adult life afterwards and had mutiple major heart-attacks and open-heart surgeries before he even hit 70–well, he lived until he was 95.
