OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Anyone gone to the US to get a booster? Wife and I are 6 months past in early Dec and I don't want to wait til late Jan.

I got away with a sore shoulder, body aches, and fatigue/brain fog. Yesterday was a write off, but starting to trend back to normal today. My dad got all of that fun along with the alternating chills/hot flashes. Basically he entered into menopause.

A small price to pay for the improved reception.
I woke up the night of in a sweat and it felt like my skin was stretched out like an elastic across my body

Aches the morning after but they were gone by lunch.

Only weird thing is I still have a bruise on my arm, though that might have been the pharmacist (NOT A GENTLE TOUCH).

Will be REALLY interesting to see the effectiveness on these anti-virals on vaccinated people.

There's a dark side of me that's kinda pissed that anti-vaxers get these pills as a cop-out.

Also curious to see how it works on lower risk people. For those the goal would have to be to significantly reduce the risk of long covid. If they accomplish that it's game over.

I found out yesterday that I can get my booster in December as it will be six months since my second shot. No waiting, just show up at Shoppers Drug Mart and git'r done. So I'll be there on December 1st.

If they're true non-believers they won't take the pills either.
Most of the "true non-believers" will become believers pretty quickly once they're gasping for air. I agree in principle though-- why would most of these antivax conspiracy dummies be willing to take anti-viral treatment made by big Pharma to deal with a hoax virus? Why not just stick with herbal tea, zinc, and horse paste if you have symptoms?

But in general, this is great for people who want the vaccine but aren't able to get it for medical reasons. And hopefully it will work on vaccinated people that get sick as well. I'd like them to consider triaging the supply and making it free to people who deserve it. If you're unvaccinated for a legit reason, you get the medicine for free. If you're vaccinated and showing symptoms, you get the medicine for free. If you're unvaccinated because ownthelibz, you can GFY until there's an overabundance, and then you pay double.

The other bit is Canada doesn't have enough doses to do the general population yet. I'm sure they can amend their contract to get future deliveries expedited if they pay up but they haven't felt the need to do that yet. I believe Ontario has around 4 million doses on hand and many of those have likely already expired. We'd need around 9-10m to get those who got their shots in June/July done.

🤔 Curious. The Ottawa Senators hockey team is 100% vaccinated bur 40% of the team has tested positive for covid.
