OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I don’t have enough room to have a Peleton (or similar contraption) without it looking clunky… so I’m waiting for the mirror contraption (now owned by lululemon) to hit critical mass

Now, on my best days I walk 10k steps and do some weights

Putting all my money into $LULU on Monday. What a cool premise.

they bought it a while ago… when i first came across it, Mirror was a stand alone startup

I strongly prefer it to having a bike or rowing machine

I saw this other one called Tonal which seemed better than the mirror. Was kinda considering it.

Shit that beats me. 6'1 165-170 and I've been this way forever too, even when I actually had muscle on the body. Best I ever did was 175 but that was when I tried to bulk up. Stubborn body. Now I'm just skinny fat mostly, though trying to keep up with a toddler helps somewhat.

Thinking of getting one of them bicycle trainers for the winters tho. But I think you need a $5 billion monthly subscription for those? Idk.. haven't looked into it much.
Food discussion moved here without notice?

6”0 and 170-175 generally. If I’m in a period where I’m successfully completely off carbs, 163-170. But if I’m hovering in the 175 range, I feel I start to look a bit more meaty in my jaw/neck and a bit plump in the belly. And I hate that.

Interesting....just looked that one up. Tonal is 2x more expensive but seems to have some plusses

here's a quick, superficial comp

Tonal vs. Mirror: Bottom line

While it may seem that the Mirror comes out on top — it’s less expensive and easier to install — there's no obvious winner here. It really comes down to how you work out, and whether you have a wall that can accommodate the Tonal. The Tonal's digital weight system is impressive, but it tops out at 200 pounds. (If you’re a lifter, you’ll want to check out the best adjustable dumbbells too).

The Mirror doesn't offer any resistance training at all, but if you love boutique fitness studios and creative cardio workouts, it's got better content, a bigger, prettier screen, and it's also a lot sleeker and more attractive when you're not using it because it's just a mirror. The Tonal looks like some sort of industrial retail display, which, luckily, fits right in with my décor, but may not be for everyone.

Those who do more lifting will prefer the Tonal. However, the Mirror, with its lower price and subscription, slimmer profile, and greater content, has a much broader appeal.

I'm doing Swiss Chalet today tho. Finally said fuck it... I'm going to use some of those gift cards to give it a whirl for the first time in over a decade. Today I try the chicken. Next time ribs. Full review coming later.
I look forward to the review but not the fate of your intestines

ask for some rib sauce. Good with the chicken if the chalet sauce isn’t your thing(chalet sauce is the cilantro of sauces)
