OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I think (and this is through no fault of most people since this is what is discussed in the news and whatnot) that people assume that the only endpoints of covid are death and full recovery. I'd probably be a lot more care-free if that were the truth. Truth is up to a third of infected people still aren't fully recovered after 3 months. That's kind of crazy and it's hard to know what that means for long-term impacts.

My mentality is that it's always worth delaying your infection as future vaccines/treatments continue to be worked on in the background. Especially for young folks.. they've got a long life ahead of them.

Agreed. Another big majority.

I don’t understand why the NDP didn’t replace their leader. Horwath has been leader for 13 years and now 4 elections. Seems like there might have been a window here for someone charismatic.

The NDP going with the loser retread who inspires no one and the Libs going with a dork ultra party insider with deep ties to both McGuinty & Wynne (and who lost his own seat by 20+ points in the last election).

Ford couldn’t have asked for an easier road to a second majority government in a row.

I've taken to loving masks. Gives me a sense of anonymity that I had no idea I wanted all these years. Nothing worse than running into someone you don't want to run into. That's outside of the whole thing that getting sick fucking sucks ass and masks fucking work pretty well. N95s while out doing errands for the rest of my life for me. It has been one of the best revelations to come out of this pandemic.
That's neat.

Soon as I can take them off I will. I hate them I find them uncomfortable. I am neurologically diverse and as such they have an impact on me that I rarely go places anymore. Once the mandates are gone I will be quite grateful. If the timeline means waiting until we have vaccines for the under 5 that's fine. But I'm not keeping this up. And if this means I give the flu to someone, that is a choice I am comfortable making.

She is garbage.

Peter Taubins should have won that race.

People have been sold the kool-aid that this is part of the global reset agenda to take their pensions and livelihoods away. The amount of disinformation out there, on both sides, is ridculous and needs to be stopped.

that’s pretty much why I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the convoy folks even if they were given everything they wanted tomorrow. The things I’ve seen them say about Trudeau are really right into pure insanity territory.

To understand your feelings about masks as I too have a difficulty with wearing a mask. I can only wear one for about 15-30 minutes before I have to step outside and take the mask off for a few minutes so only do indoor activities when necessary. However, I am not eager to do indoor activities or go into crowded area without wearing a mask.

Even if the mask mandates were lifted in the next month I’ll probably be keeping mine on indoors until I’m comfortable that covid is no longer a daily threat.

Yeah, we definitely haven’t seen the last of them. They haven’t been faced with any real consequences, have gotten to have a big party with their friends, and when Premiers like Ford & Kenney do away with all the mandates, they get to claim victory.

Not to mention that whoever the CPC elects as their new leader will probably be someone who defended the protestors and went around taking grinning selfies with them.

When it comes to eating out, having beers at a bar or having a coffee at a cafe they are little more than security theater at this point.

I keep mine in my pocket. I regularly by mistake put it on backwards. Mine goes through the laundry, surgical masks and gets worn again. I only put it on so nobody says anything to me.

I want masks to be permanent so bad. A minor inconvenience at worst and judgment free anonymity at best. And if everyone is wearing high quality masks it will nearly elimate transmission in places like grocery stores. But it's a good question. I have no idea. Maybe soon, until a more severe variant comes along.
step one in any living with covid plan should be wearing masks

i do not understand it at all

He's gonna win easily IMO. It won't be very close.
I feel like I hate the guy more than most Ontarians but I agree with this and expect another majority.

Stephen del Duca is the kid who was always following around the cool kids at school trying to hang out with them and yet nobody fucking noticed him or remembered his name. That guy doesn't win elections.

and hilariously someone Horwath is still around and worse.
