OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I mean, you really only need 1 arena, doing 2 games a day and playing every other day. There's only 4 series for each conference on at a time, right? Slight risk that the early game goes to like triple-OT, but it's not like you have to worry about emptying 20k fans between the matches.

I mean i assume they want to keep tv times fairly normal?

I get that people don't like masks. I hate them myself. But it's a frickin' pandemic. Where there are massive outbreaks, people need to wear masks, especially now when studies are showing they're more effective than we first thought.

I don't envy anyone the task of having to explain all this to Trump fans, though.

i do not even notice i am wearing a mask anymore
but very few people wear them out here in deadmonton

I'd say a lot of people out here do but I'm east of Toronto. Except Home Depot, no one ever seems to wear a mask at our Home Depot.

Funny you say that, 14 workers just tested positive for covid at a Home Depot near me and my first thought was "I bet you the macho men that go there don't fucking wear masks." Glad to see that backs up your experience. But not actually glad. More like infuriated.

My local costco was giving out masks when I went last week. They were not required but recommended and I wore one. Was freaking weird, I gotta say. Imagine it is something you get used to. Fit terribly though.

My wife ordered us some masks from some hip Toronto provider online so hopefully those fit better. Pandemic problems.

I heard about that this morning (the Richmond Hill one) and I thought they'd be stricter today maybe but zero employees wearing a mask and I'd say maybeeeee 1/4 of the customers. So... not surprised at all.

no different than wearing glasses imo

you just get used to it

on the scale of inconveniences it is also very minor. for the benefit of public safety, hardly an unreasonable trade off.

interestingly, climbing gyms here have reopened, and do not require the use of masks, which seems absurd on its face. on the other hand, at this point I am willing to accept the risk and not wear one cause it's a pain and uncomfortable. convince me I am being selfish?

I'm kind of half-in, half-out when it comes to wearing masks.

I'll wear one when I'm in a store (or lining up outside to get in), but otherwise I'm not wearing one when I'm out and about.

Seems fine. Indoors with other people when you know they might accidentally get within 6 feet of you, right? I can see the logic.

If I'm walking around outside, I don't wear one and just keep my distance.

In my building it's like 6 people from different apartments all cram into an elevator and roll their eyes when you say you'll wait for the next one.

Are you from the GTA?

it is annoying to take a cab or uber when drunk but you should still do it

side note: remember how people were mocking folks that were wearing a mask in the car? i get it now - you just forget you are wearing it

Holy fuck. Texas had 3,823 cases today. New York hasn't had that many since May 7.

*edit* Oh ok, there's a slight explanation... it's actually 4,069 new cases and 1,476 of them were from prisons not reporting correctly and doing them in bulk. Still a record increase without those bulk prison cases though.

I mean how bad is it gonna get in the red states before someone actually does something? This administration is a disgrace to humanity
