OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

It just occ'd to me that they made no changes to indoor gatherings like weddings with this latest stay at home order.

Still 15% capacity indoors for those.

Looks like he's managed to piss off both sides this time. #firefordopenontario is trending lol

This should be a lesson about never being able to appease low information voters without lighting the province on fire.

Did his fucking damndest to ignore experts this entire time and it's still not enough for them.

Things Israel did that the world can learn from:
  • Previously infected people were at the back of the line for vaccines.
  • Had an insanely large proportion of people with natural immunity. I'd rather avoid this point but they got hit hard and tbh it's helping them achieve herd immunity faster than many countries will
Could emerging variants of the virus affect Israel’s presumed herd immunity?

“We don’t know yet,” Leshem says. “From what we know, the Pfizer vaccine is quite effective against different variants in prevention of disease and prevention of infection, though it may be slightly less effective against the South African variant, at least in the lab.”

This bit will be the one to watch but so far it's looking good. I'm personally not too worried about it for countries primarily using Pfizer or Moderna.

108,000 vaccinations yesterday. We're good. If that becomes the new trend (and I have no reason to believe it won't) I'm no longer all that concerned.

As I said in June we may have a need to get up to 200k+ but I'm not sure current supply requires us to do much more than 150k per day. Hopefully we're mowing through that AZ stockpile and it ain't just Pfizer/Moderna that we're using up.

Was at Costco this morning for groceries(needed restock on non perishables and such) was pleased to see nothing non essential available. All aisles with other items were inaccessible. They worked through the night to rearrange the store for this. It’s great. As an aside, they are also doing vaccines. The lady at the desk told me a) I’m too young (age up here is currently 55) and b) I don’t want that one as it’s AZ. I’m curious as to how many patrons she’s discouraged to get the AZ shot. I mean, I get it. I don’t want it either. That being said people need to get jabbed.

A simple youre not eligable would have been okay but i doubt the average worker/patron has any idea of the efficacy of the AZ vaccine.
Exactly. So having someone who’s supposed to be administering them telling people they probably don’t want it is pretty unhelpful. She was super pleasant too. Ugh

What is this pre-register message. Is it a register to get a message when it is your turn to register or does it put you on an actual vaccination list?
