yeah I saw their new restrictions yesterday and was shocked. there are some things that I feel like in NS, even when not battling the 2nd or 3rd wave, where we restricted things more than they did despite having way lower case counts.

Sinopharm has around the same effectiveness as AZ based on trials from 70-80%. Could be a lot of factors at play though.

WHO experts have voiced "very low confidence" in data provided by Chinese state-owned drugmaker Sinopharm on its COVID-19 vaccine regarding the risk of serious side-effects in some patients, but overall confidence in its ability to prevent the disease, a document seen by Reuters shows.

I am skeptcial of sinopharm. spidey sense on that one. sputnik too while we're at it.

Might be a sign that they're pretty much done doing first doses with AZ in Ontario (I think she's in Ontario?). Probably the right move. That means ~2m of the 48-50m doses we are scheduled to get by the end of June will go unused. Hopefully our J&J gets unlocked soon! And the rest is all mrna!!!
 
132,000 vaccinations yesterday btw with that new Pfizer shipment coming online. Would like to see 150,000+ at some point this week, especially when the Moderna product gets into the province's hands. Let's go.

yeah the folks are all in ON. my brother finally got an appointment to get his next week too (he's younger than I, but in a hotspot).

Looking like I'll be the last of the clan to get dose one...
 
I wonder if people will start to identify with the vaccine they got somewhat like they identify with sports teams. I'm all in on team AZ. I recognize Pfizer has some talented players, but not sure they can go all the way. Same with Moderna. J&J is an upstart contender, but I think we could take them in the playoffs.
 
I'm going with players. Pfizer is the grizzled vet superstar. The Sidney Crosby, if you will. They've been performing for years. Moderna is Auston Matthews as an up and coming powerhouse that is new to the scene but performs just as well, if not better, than Sid. J&J is pure value. TJ Brodie. One dose for solid protection. Nothing special and nothing flashy. Just gets the job done. And AZ is obviously Nylander as the most polarizing vaccine of all-time, but the underlyings are very good..
