OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I don't know whose fault it is. I'm just confused that a poster on a hockey forum named Presto did a better job of projecting supply than them.

Baffling isn’t it? My guessing is that they are too busy trying to please everyone special interest groups they lost site of the larger picture forgetting that they should be able to focus on more the one thing at a time.

So my brother has been calling pharmacies all day every day pretty much for the past week since they announced that Moderna will available in some York Region pharmacies. Last weekend many said they do not have supply yet, others said they are already booked. He FINALLY got an appointment on Saturday for him and his wife (his wife, a teacher, originally had an appointment all the way on June 11th). Only way to do it is be relentless and call call call I guess.

And don’t forget to cancel any appts. you won’t be using.

yeah this is how my mom got hers.

Nice little chart on antibody response after 1 dose, 2 doses, 1 dose + prior infection, etc. Confirms my suspicion that we sould have been prioritizing giving 2nd doses to the 80+ year olds, maybe even 60+. Seems like a 1 dose strategy is quite fine for anyone under 60 though. Disclaimer: antibodies is only one factor for protection against viruses! Doesn't necessarily = immunity, but it helps!

Crazy thing is, I honestly don’t know whether this is a real, accurate quote, or if it’s satire. Either is equally plausible.

A once-in-a-century medical crisis, and we’re making our way through it by one-man governance based entirely on an uneducated moron’s gut decisions & anecdotal evidence.

It is not word for word but a very accurate summary of his statement.

I understand the sentiment - you go and play golf or tennis, then go grab a drink afterwards.

But still kind of feels like that can be accounted for by, you know, making sure bars and clubhouses aren't serving, but still keeping the golf courses or tennis courts open. Maybe that's just me, though.
