OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Two guys at work have kids who tested positive. Also work-related. We had an equipment breakdown, called the machinists in to repair it, and all six guys in the shop are home with covid. I'm glad I took 3 weeks off.

2 years in and we're finally seeing bigger name nerds take this seriously. Nowhere near enough research/clinical trials on LC right now but now that we're letting it rip and mass infecting the planet that'll change quickly. Hope to fuck this can be resolved because a lot of it seems irreversible.

We’ve known about the neurological impacts of the disease since the start.

I remember my covid Dr friend mentioning them during wave 1. The stuff that was killing people wasn’t the mystery. Obviously, a respiratory virus manifesting in pneumonia isn’t surprising. Inflammation, too. The vascular impacts took a little while to unravel but ultimately didn’t surprise people much.

The neurological impacts were a big wtf for him (he’s a smart dude - astrophysicist and MD).

The challenge on the research front is probably related to how relatively little we know about how the brain works.

The immuno stuff isn't well understood either. Most with long covid have zero or near zero antibodies against covid even if vaxxed so they're very succeptable to reinfection. And very succeptable all sorts of infections. And a bunch of other viruses are often reactivated like EBV which causes more issues. So they're basically immunocompromised which makes them eligible for paxlovid on reinfections so yay? It's a mess and the research behind it is very messy too. Hopefully it's cleaned up at some point.

What exactly is the argument here? That covid doesn't exist? That long covid doesn't exist? That there's no evidence of neurological impact?

I don't get it.

I remember posting an article showing damage from covid in brain scans like a year ago.

This was even public knowledge back in 2020.

Of course, Harvard might be a fake school. Has anyone ever heard of them?

I think the easy answer to BL's posts is he's had Covid 42 times.

my neighbour was working on the research side of this and said something similar about people not understanding how complex the brain is to understand the impact of this virus on it yet

Covid is healthy/basically like taking a vitamin and people only get deathly ill from vaccines. Obviously.

There's people on forumice who know people with these issues. Sorta insulting to imply they're fake and this is all part of a cover up conspiracy.

I don't think my brother is in on it, guys.

It's not an argument. He's showing us that we're uneducated duped plebes who don't have the utter mastery of the world and its problems that he has.

You don’t know that. Have you checked your bros internet history??
