This guy was my favorite player growing up:

Will the thrill?

Is Jay Bruce an upgrade over Saunders?

hah, the last 2 years he's been below replacement value. Factor in salary and then it's not even close. Pompey's D alone would put up a higher war than Bruce while making 1/13th of his salary. If the Jays trade for Bruce, it shows they have no direction or concept on how to win. They should have signed a legit #2 SP instead. Bruce also does not get on base, and is heavily favored because of his homers. So, if he doesn't hit homers, he's completely and utterly useless. The blue jays already have players who can hit HRs so if you try to figure out this move and how it makes sense, you most likely won't be able to.

Krust and Wehave's Dodgers are off to a great start. Swept the Padres and didn't give up a run. Up 3-0 in San Francisco today after 4. 31 straight innings without giving up a run.

Anyone know Anthony Rizzo? My daughter just started dating his best friend. Never knew the kid went to Stoneman Douglas HS. It's not far from where I live.

Jays bullpen = Habs goaltending this year

Yes, but the blue jays never learn. They assemble a team and cheap out at the end in hopes they can 'make it'. They traded hendriks for chavez, and they needed to spend a bit more and sign a guy like Clippard too. They have a good team, but I don't think they make it to the post season this year. Boston is more well rounded and I can see JB declining quite a bit this year, his D already looks atrocious.

The thing about bullpens , you need to add a couple of young arms every year to give the opposition a new look. Biagini was the best Jay in the bullpen last night because nobody faced him before. Inevitably most relievers will get figured out, unless their stuff is real nasty.

I still think half the BP is garbage and full of question marks. A guy like clippard at least brings experience and for 6m/yr, and you know you're going to most likely get a 1-1.5 war out of him. But, Morales/Chavez/Floyd/Biagini, are 4 guys that are all question marks, way too many. They needed another high end arm, and now the BP has blown a couple of games already.

Has Marcus Strolman accomplished enough in his young career to merit a TV documentary? Oh wait, he plays for the Jays so it doesn't matter.
