OT: MLB Thread

Tim Reynolds
In case you missed it, there were 15 MLB games yesterday and home teams went 15-0. Never happened before in the history of Earth. Insane

Problem is you think we dwell on those games forever. You get more joy out of them than we feel pain.
Former Alouettes linebacker and current Lions GM Wally Buono was on the radio this week and he mentioned a play from the 1979 Grey Cup game where Keith Baker of the Als ran a kick back 80 yards for a TD that would have tied the game but was instead called back due to a phantom clipping call and cost the Als the championship.

I remember it like it was yesterday and yes it still pisses me off nearly 4 decades later. These things never go away. Pathetic failure lasts forever.

The Giants' World Series wins don't bother me a bit. I rooted for KC last year just because they were underdogs from a small market but I wasn't really invested in them. The only time I ever actively rooted against the Giants was in 2002 and only then because I didn't want Bonds to get a ring. But given that Barry's lifetime playoff batting average is a "reverse clutch" .245 I suppose I needn't have worried.

All Cowboys, Broncos and Raiders Super Bowl wins continue to bother me.

In 2002 the Angels refused to pitch to the all time HR hitter. If only Jim Fanning and Dink Williams understood you don't have to pitch to good players.

Braves would have caught them, Expos were born chokers

You forget that the Braves choked as bad as the Expos. They made the playoffs every year for a decade and only managed on WS win. And the only reason they kept winning division titles is because there was no one else to challenge them in the NL East until the 94 Expos.
