OT: MLB Thread

I wouldn't worry Count. If the Jays had that much trouble getting by a team that was supposedly so inferior to them I'd expect that their chances against better competition are less certain. Once Toronto fails he'll go back into his hole.

Only this time perhaps some of us will follow him back to his board and remind him that karma is a biatch. All I know is that he'd better pray that his team doesn't stub it's toe from here on out because there will be nowhere for him to hide if they do.
You better be prepared. If the most talented team wins the World series, you're going to be upset.

They had trouble against the Rangers because they didn't hit and were not playing to their full potential. Since game 3 they looked fine.

The Jays are easily the most talented of the 4 remaining. Things worked out for them in terms of some teams getting knocked-out like St.-Louis.

This is correct. The mocking started with the Leafs from other fans during the Quinn years. The Flames then did it in 04' and it became so cool!

The way Leafs fans pimped Quinn like he was some genius invited mocking. When Quinn was coaching Vancouver and beating the Leafs in the Conference Finals there weren't any Leafs fans who thought he was a genius then. Apparently he only became intelligent when he stepped behind the Leafs' bench. Of course, the results were the same as always: failure.

Then Leafs fan started the "final four" narrative which was heretofore never used in a hockey context to make their consistent playoff failure seem like a success because they had made it to "the final four" or that they lost to the eventual Cup champions, as if that mattered.

Leafs fan is always clutching at straws, trying to latch on to even a tiny bit of success that they can inflate into something bigger than what it really is. Whoever coined the phrase "Statistics are for losers" definitely had Leafs fan in mind.

But unlike delusional fans from other teams, we could not escape Leafs fan because they had a willing accomplice in the "national" media which fawned over every small sign of progress from the Leafs like doting parents. We had the early 2000's Leafs forcibly rammed down our throats. That's why people like me are quite happy to see the Leafs miss the playoffs 9 of the past 10 years. It's what you deserve for forcing me to witness your team's crapulence every Saturday night for years on end and for no good reason.

And if the Jays fall short I will happily tap-dance on their corpse too. I moved 4000 kms away from Toronto so that I wouldn't have to put up with all their self-important BS but there's no escape so I have to fight back. The raw sewage being dumped in Montreal is a trickle compared to the tsunami of liquid fecal matter coming from the Toronto sports media these days as they attempt to turn the Blue Jays into the second coming of the 1927 Yankees.

The networks make the most $ showing the Leafs. If you were in charge, you'd show them too.

The "Final 4" celebrations were bad I guess. But Calgary having parades after winning round 1 was great. Everyone loved it.

The only reason why anyone even noticed what was going on in Calgary back in 04 was because some of the drunk chicks were taking their tops off. Otherwise nobody cares about anything that happens in Calgary.

You do realize that using quotes from Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey movies does nothing to advance your point of view, don't you? If you're going to go the route of quoting movies you need to first have better taste in movies and quote from one that someone other than a 14 year old boy would pay money to see.

I'd reckon that I've seen considerably more feature length and documentary films of quality throughout my young life than you.

The irony is that I strongly dislike Adam Sandler and most of his films in general, but hey, when apropos...it seemed like the most fitting response given the complete idiocy of the quoted material and its applicability as a response.

This was a poor metaphor the first time you clumsily attempted to use it and it remains so the second time.

I highly doubt it. Wehave has seen just about everything there is to be seen movie wise.

It seems highly contradictory to lambaste someone for the source of the clip in a pretentious manner while simultaneously engaging in metaphors involving fecal references.

I dislike double standards, what can I say?

you don't mind them from Corksens who cries he is "constantly" attacked while calling said attacker names in every post.

Cork rarely instigates. He normally responds to you in kind, but he's rarely the instigator. Regardless, that has nothing to do with one man's bizarre vendetta against a city and a national media that hates the team he thinks they worship.

And I dislike people who engage in the Internet equivalent of drive-by shooting. There are certain posters from other boards who only show their avatars here when they have something to crow about. When they don't or when their teams implode they suddenly go into the witness protection program. I haven't bothered to post on the Leafs board in years. Trying to educate the wilfully stupid is a lost cause. But if the parasites from those other boards refuse to stay away from here I may have to reconsider. Maybe I should post on the Leafs board after every loss to remind them of how pointless their continued existence is.

I've posted in the Habs board on the past, know all of the major posters here, always discuss the draft here in the summer, and occasionally make a foray in the Around the League and political threads as well.

Hardly anything constituting the example of a "drive by shooting" as you described it. This is a baseball thread and evidently you don't care for baseball other than to make ignorant, viscerally angry remarks, so why post?

Rarely instigates? Are you blind? He's as big a shit disturber as anyone on this site

You started attacking him over his "failed marriage." What did you expect him to say to you?
After he called my wife fat and that despite my being socially awkward I still managed to marry down. He has called me ginger pig for years, called me every name in the book and started the wife ia fat crap months ago. You were in puppy love then and not around.
