OT: Movies/TV Shows

Through 2 episodes of Dark on Netflix. It's starting to get really interesting. I've heard great things about it, but I was reluctant because it's German and I don't care for watching dubbed or subtitled shows. I figured I'd try the dubbed first and if it was bad, switch to subtitles. I gotta say, the dubbing is pretty good. Better than most.

it's a good show. enjoyed it.

Out of boredom I rewatched a bunch of Man of Steel last night. I liked it fine when I first saw it but I actually think it’s a very underrated flick now. I liked it more on second viewing. From before Snyder decided to go too big on his movies.

Doom could be such a great character for a long, long time.

Hopefully they don't just Thanos him into Secret Wars and call it a day.

I love Cavill. I feel like he’d only do it if it had some depth to it. He’d be awesome and finally provide a reason to see an FF movie.

I read an article last night eviscerating them saying it’s the same 5 shows and people every year that they keep awarding and no one gives a shit anymore, plus the irony here is network tv is busy promoting all the streamers’ shows for them and publicizing their own relative irrelevance.

Emily the criminal is the best film I've seen in 2022. Not just because I have a crush on Aubrey Plaza. She is terrific in it. It's funny, because the crimes in the film for the most part aren't as "High stakes" as other crime films, yet there's quite terrific tension in the movie watching it. A real gem. Watch it.

Really enjoyed it. Hoping they can replicate the style with 1899.
We're heading into season 3. Absolutely loving it. I am a sucker for good time travel stuff... so great time travel shows are like heroin.

Haven't heard about 1899. Is that a spin off?

Wait. I love good time travel content. What's this one about in a sentence or two?
It's German but the dubbing is actually quite good and not a distraction at all. Extremely difficult to explain in a sentence or two.

From wiki... just enough to not ruin anything.

Children start vanishing from the German town of Winden,[13] bringing to light the fractured relationships, double lives, and the dark pasts of four families living there, and unfurling a mystery that spans four generations.

The first season begins in 2019, but later grows to include 1986 and 1953 via time travel, when members of the show's central families become aware of a wormhole in the cave system beneath the local nuclear power plant.
