OT: Movies/TV Shows

For me it makes total sense that Galadriel was a badass fighter when young.

She was never an angry idiot. This character was a full blown idiot.

I tried to explain it to you. They nerfed Galadriel, they didn't make her stronger.

Did I get mad? I remember chuckling internally in disappointment at your poor taste.

You angry emoji'd and your follow up posts bore the tell tale signs of deep rage.

You could obviously make the argument that LOTR is for the most part extremely male-centric.

Still, for the time period in which it was written, not bad that a woman is one of the wisest and most powerful characters (Galadriel) and another woman (Eowynn) puts on a sword & armour & kills one of the main baddies.
Those are 2 great characters. But the problem is they're like the only 2 named women in like 26 main characters.

Inside Man on Netflix was very disappointing.

I love David Tennant and you can't really go wrong with Stanley Tucci and their acting was just fine in this. However, the writing was just off enough to ruin it. The characters were put (presumably) into situations where they had to make some crazy decisions. The problem is, the characters just made such ridiculous decisions based on the scenario. Like really... it would have just taken an ounce of creativity to write in a scenario to make their decisions less ridiculous. I tried to suspend disbelief, but it just kept nagging at me there were SO many easier and less destructive options given the position they were in. Then they try act like this was the only option.

Yeah that was me laughing.

It's OK you like the worst fantasy series of all time.

Though technically not a series but it was supposed to be the first in a franchise (but lack of box office success nixed that idea). When I was a teen, the three pronged sword that shoots out it's blades was kind of cool (but hardly practical lol).

The lead actor was able to find success on TV (kind of a Magnum PI ripoff of sorts):

I have some very hazy memories of that. Maybe just the commercial cuz that looks too sexy and satanic for my parents to have let me watch it.

But hell those effects still look pretty good. Must have been some budget.

I'm guessing your parents would've had a dim view of the lead actor's crucifixion scene. :D
