OT: Movies/TV Shows

One thing I can give friends credit for it seems to have captured multiple generations... My daughter's watched every episode and she's in her twenties now and I'm pretty sure that's when I watched it or at least when it was on I didn't watch it that much

You should try HIMYM. It's funny although I wanted to slap Ted over and over.

Barney makes the show. Period.

I'm not sure I could watch a conventional sitcom again. I never liked the format all that much to begin with, and really only watched a handful that were good enough to overcome it.

The Friends hate was due to it being so overexposed. I mean one of the major magazines in the mid 90's declared David Swimmer the next big movie sensation. It got tiresome.

Man I thought Friends was objectively shit, but I acknowledge there is value in a show that makes one "comfortable". That's largely what sitcoms were about, more so than being a work of art television program. Every Thursday at 8:30pm you can turn off your brain and depend on a familiar cast of characters to brighten your shitty day.

yeah...I thought it was a bunch of lame, hacky jokes....but far be it from me to police how others choose to take a break from their shitty days

The idiocy of Joey Tribbiani did it for me. Chandler and Ross were meh although some episodes with Ross (The tanning booth) are pretty funny.
