OT: Movies/TV Shows

Feel like a lot of people are gonna be hammered by that….i didn’t watch Brooklyn 99, but it seemed like damn near any blooper/behind the scenes clip I saw on Twitter was him cracking everyone up.

Seemed like a great funny dude.

As good a dramatic actor as he was comedic ( a turn that came seemingly out of nowhere for 99, which like you i did not watch, but appreciated his clips)

99 was probably the best network sitcom in years. The Good Place is the only other one I can think of that was as good.

Both Michael Shur vehicles….and he’s a David Foster Wallace junkie like me….just sayin’

Wrote his university thesis on infinite jest…and I believe The Good Place & Parks and Rec were ostensibly DFW’s “New Sincerity” at their core.

Michael Shur also wrote a book on philosophy that’s derived from the research he did making The Good Place. For anyone interested in philosophy but not wanting to trudge through the academic stuff, it’s a pretty great little catch all….that has Shur’s humour throughout.

Pretty positive he reads the audiobook version, so even for non-readers, that would be an entertaining time if you enjoy all his other stuff.
