OT: Movies/TV Shows

Not sure how it didn't win the Sound award. Zone of Interest must have some kind of sound design.

I still haven’t seen it. I can’t bear to undertake 4 hours or whatever it was.
Oppenheimer is 3 hours, not 4, and as the old saying goes, no good movie is ever long enough and no bad movie is ever brief enough. Most movies are made to suit people's ever-shrinking attention span and to maximize turnover in the theater so they can screen it more times per day and sell more tickets and popcorn. But some of the best movies in history were ones complete with overtures and intermissions. Cleopatra and Gone With the Wind were each about 4 hours long, Ben Hur was about 3.5 hours as was Doctor Zhivago. Somewhat more recently, Once Upon a Time in America and Reds were both well over 3 hours long. They are all good films.

By contrast, Ishtar was only an hour and 45 minutes long and every second of it was tedious and painful to endure. The Thin Red Line was just under 3 hours long but it felt like it took a lifetime to get to the end. I was nodding off in the theater.

Really want to see this. It's streaming as of today. Years ago Harrison Ford was supposed to be in this and it was going to be a big budget theatrical release.

"Out of Darkness" is a really solid horror/survival film made in the Scottish Highlands. Highly recommended!

Want to see this bad (And not just for hot Lezbo action).
