The interesting thing is that there’s actually three whole more books in the series after where the show leaves off. And there’s a 28-year time-jump between where the show left off and the start of the next book.
So someone could pick up where they left off any time and make those final three seasons. Doesn’t even matter if a bunch of years have passed because the older the actors are, the more story-accurate it becomes.
