OT: Movies/TV Shows

Why are we all staying at more expensive hotels than Jay Leno? And did he need to perform to make sure he got paid right after his 20,000 00 foot fall?
He'll be the first to tell you: Nicest guy in showbizz.

The laugh track always felt so awkward on that show
It was only put there because Americans don't know what kind of show it is without one. Additionally, the makers of the show had to convince the head honchos at CBS that this was a comedy about a MASH unit in the Korean War, which it was superficially about, not a serious social commentary on the Vietnam War, which is what it actually was. The laugh track helped them hoodwink the network execs who would otherwise want nothing to do with such a show.

When the show aired in the UK it never had a laugh track. UK shows where you hear laughing are shows filmed before a live studio audience. They never use canned laughter (well, aside from Benny Hill)

Also, fun fact: whenever you hear a laugh track you are hearing the laughter of people who are all long dead.

I've been listening to his podcast with Woody Harrellson and damn, he should host a late night show., He's fantastic. He's also rather underrated as an actor. Cheers ended 31 years ago and he' s been on a lot of very good shows since.
I can't imagine there's been another TV actor that's done so many good/successful shows. Cheers, Becker and The Good Place as a star and his 34 episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm in support alone are an incredible career. Then he's been in a ton of other stuff that I never watched but generally liked shows like CSI (84 Episodes) and Bored to Death.

His film career has been pretty, pretty good as well.

No Country
Zombieland
White Men Can't Jump
Hunger Games
Solo....which turned out to be one of the better modern star wars movies
Natural Born Killers
Thin Red Line for those Malick weirdos
