OT: Movies/TV Shows

Most overrated film of the year. It's like a bad remake of From Dusk Till Dawn. But since it has racism themes, people will think it's "Deep" and a far better film than that when it's not.
A cross between From Dusk Till Dawn (which was better) and Babylon (which was unwatchable).

New Superman movie is getting very good reviews so far.

I’m looking forward to it. Up until now, I don’t think anyone’s ever gotten Superman—or Lex Luthor—right on the big screen.

The Reeve movies were completely over the top with how campy, cartoonish & goofy they were. The one Brandon Routh movie was just a continuation/imitation of those Reeve movies.

And then while I think Henry Cavill was perfect casting, his movies were hampered by the fact that Zach Snyder’s a godawful storyteller, didn’t have a clue about the character & was obsessed with copying the dark & gritty aesthetic of Nolan’s Batman movies, which isn’t a fit at all for Superman.

Fingers crossed that Gunn finally hits the sweet spot.

I haven't seen anyone comment on 28 years later. I heard it was good but has anyone here seen it?

Feel like this is the version of Superman Ben would unironically love the best:

Oddly, I feel like the new Superman will require a rewatch to really give it a proper review. It jumps right into the action and doesn't really let up. Some good twists, interesting choices...

Casting was great. Writing was okay. No complaints about special effects. In fact special effects kind of give a more comic-book feel, including Krypto.
