OT: NFL thread

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

NFL playoff OT rule is odd. You can't win if you take the opening kickoff down and kick a FG to win but if you score a TD on the opening drive after winning the coin toss, you win the game.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Good start to his playoff career by Tebow. Key this week was he was turnover free, he has to play the same way if they want to beat the Patriots next week.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

It is good vs evil next week, christ lover vs anti christ, virgin vs actress and model knocker upper

Its semi-sudden death instead of full sudden death that it used to be. Guess they are trying to generate more action by forcing the team with the ball first to try and get a TD.

That's what they've been saying on the radio today, Peyton to Arizona

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Dallas is the best place for him to be....America's Team gets one of the best QB in recent times

Obviously they are trying to promote teams attempting to go for the touchdown. I love the rules.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

He isn't going to Dallas even though he is better than Romo, Jones won't sink money into a QB when he has a highly paid one and our major problems are on defence.
I agree... Romo is not the problem in Dallas. Peyton may be better right now but Romo is younger and pretty good himself.

It's a good rule change actually.....mitigates the impact of the OT coin toss. Always was a killer...winning the toss = big OT advantage. Much less lady luck this way.

Better than college, where you start in FG position and the only reason why you don't score is a turnover or a choking kicker (coughStanfordcough).

I agree..they wanted to stop the coin toss winner from winning it all after making just a few medium passes to set up a FG.

About the game, unbelievable stuff...lots of key plays that could have flipped for either side.

On the winning pass, the Steeler safety was caught in no-mans land (too far up). The safety was their backup and was only playing because their starter has a condition that prevents him from playing at high altitude (he lost his spleen and gall bladder the last time he played in Denver)
