OT: NFL thread

I read some morons say Zimmer played not to lose and running three times to burn clock was wrong and that the missed FG proves it. I said given that works 99% of the time, Zimmer was correct.

That's just dumb, the Vikings had to burn the clock to give as little time as possible to Seattle to come back with a field goal of their own.

Hey Habsy, have you seen the new 30 for 30 documentary about the Bills yet? I saw it on Netflix the other day and it's excellent. Called "The Four Falls of Buffalo". Scott Norwood is still an emotional wreck to this day.

That was the only SB they had a chance to win. Kelly Levy thomas etc wouldnt be seen as losers had Norwood made that kick.

Actually they could have won all four but they made some fatal errors in every game. In one instance during Superbowl XXVI against the Redskins Thurman Thomas' helmet was misplaced on the sidelines forcing me Bills to use a backup running back. They called a play that opened up a hole large enough to drive a truck through it. Thomas would have taken it to the house. Instead the backup guy ran to the wrong side and Jim Kelly had to run the ball himself for a short gain. It would have been a game changing play.

The only game they quit in was the last one. They led at the half but had once again squandered opportunities to get a big lead. They basically were out of gas and had nothing left once the second half began. They'd played so many games over that four year stretch that there was nothing left in the tank.

30-13 was the last one, they were ahead at the half but Thomas fumbled it and James Washington returned it for a TD to tie it. Then our vastly superior talent took over and we scored 17 more. You could argue they gave up in the 52-17 game when we were up 28-10 at the half. Still the final score should have been 59-10 as Reich threw a TD pass while over the LOS that the refs missed and then old Leon Lett screwed around and let Beebe catch him.

We know now you feel #Chargers and #Rams fans. Our condolences. You truly are great fans.

Not exactly the same.

St. Louis had the football Cardinals and lost them to Arizona. Then they got the Rams and they're losing them too. And I don't see that many people in St. Louis even care. They didn't shed many tears over losing the Cardinals and except for the Kurt Warner era when they managed to win a Super Bowl the Rams' tenure in Missouri was marked by a good deal of public indifference. At any rate, they had two opportunities with the NFL and both were failures. St. Louis is a baseball town in a way that most US cities are football towns.

The Rams started in Cleveland, moved to LA, then St. Louis and now back to LA. Who knows how long they'll last this time but their glory years were in LA and they're merely "coming home".

As for the Chargers, they too started in LA before moving to San Diego and a lot of their current fans drive down from LA to watch them play. But again this isn't the Expos moving to DC. This is more like if the Expos had moved to Ottawa. Yeah they're technically gone, but they're only a couple of hours drive away. It's not even as big a relocation as the Raiders moving from Oakland to LA and back to Oakland.

Good on the goverments.

Why the hell the city/state needs to use taxpayer money to help billionaires build stadiums that will only make them more wealthy is beyond me.

The Habs built the molson center themselves didn't they?

If by great fans you mean that they don't show up to games, attendance is down, and they cannot agree on a new stadium, then yes, ''great city/fan base''
