OT: NFL thread

Are you so drunk on the Romo kool-aid that you have forgotten that quarterbacks are judged on championships? Unless or until they win the big one guys like Newton and Palmer are nothing more than the NFL equivalent of Bob Luongo.

You aren't judged only by championships but if you don't have any you are diminished. Obviously a guy like Dilfer, who's career was a footnote except for that one championship season, would not be better than Marino who set all kinds of records. But at the same time I doubt that Ravens fan would trade Dilfer's one great playoff run for all the passing records held by Marino.

But this is a straw man argument anyway because neither Romo, nor Palmer nor Newton are anywhere close to being Marino and would have to win at least one Super Bowl to even be in the same conversation as Dilfer.

I don't recall a lot of jaw-dropping, "how did he do that?" performances from Brady. He isn't memorable in the way that some other QB's have been. He doesn't have a signature, career defining moment like Montana with "the Catch", for example. But if there's ever been a more efficient quarterback than Brady I've not seen him. He just goes out there and in a very businesslike and matter-of-fact way he eviscerates his opposition. Brett Favre was a hot mess who pulled miracles out of his ass that even he couldn't explain. Brady's a surgeon. Everything happens exactly the way he meant it to happen. On the rare occasions when he doesn't win he seems perplexed and annoyed more than disappointed, as if to say "That should have worked"
 
No QB ever has understood the game like Peyton Manning. He never had the D like Brady or a coach like Darth Belichick.

I would go Montana Marino Manning Slinging Sammy Brady

Yup cards won both tosses... so it made no difference.

I just don't understand how the ref can toss a coin and the coin doesn't flip.
