OT: NFL thread

NFL wants that LA market badly.....they took notice years ago when Angels signed that massive TV deal, followed by Dodgers. Next NFL TV deal will be a homerun

except the ratings in Los Angeles went down this year as now they are stuck with those teams on TV instead of marquee late games

LA is Trojan country.

NFL ratings could be take a step back to take two steps forward. When the Rams or Chargers get good, they will have a huge following. Right now there is more demand for the marquee matchups, but in time, the demand for the home town team will grow.

Just like every NFL market with a winning team... demand for the home team is greater than demand for a good out of market matchup.

Too bad the LA market doesn't really want the NFL that badly in return. They already don't care about the Rams and they never even wanted the Chargers, who will be the fourth most popular football team in town behind the Trojans, Rams, Bruins and latent LA Raiders fans. To top it off they'll be playing in a 25000 seat soccer stadium for the next 2 years and they probably won't even sell it out.

they would have been smarter to play in the Rose Bowl
