OT: NFL thread

All Washington has to do is lose or tie and the Packers are in, thanks to Tampa and Philly both winning today.

So in a way, the Cowboys could have done something to prevent the Packers from getting in but they chose to play Romo instead.

Yeah, they played him on one drive only and he threw a TD at the end of it. :rolleyes(2):

Now Mark Sanchez on the other hand has to be the worst QB to ever play in the NFL. That's the definition of throwing the game.

EJ Manuel is far worst than Sanchez. Tim Tebow also.

As a lifelong Browns fan, I completely agree. The Browns have had PLENTY of problems since coming back in 1999, but one of their biggest problems is that they hire so many head coaches and then fire them after 2 years. I don't know how they expect a team who's been consistently bad in the draft to perform at their peak ability when they're learning a new system every other season. Despite the 1-15 season this year, I hope they start turning it around come this year's draft, give Hue Jackson more than one more year and let him establish some continuity while they rebuild for a few years. The Browns haven't been consistently good since I was a little kid, I think the majority of us can wait a few more years so long as they start showing some improvement. And unless they go 0-16 next season, that shouldn't be too hard to do.

Not only that, these different football systems greatly impact the players that get drafted. When the system changes, many of those talents no longer fit the new football program.

Unlike the NHL, where all the teams play a variation of the same game, pro football offers a crazy assortment of strategies and approaches that need to be learned through countless practices.

That's why there are very few midseason trades in the NFL

The head coach is like a CEO. You're not going to do much if you keep flipping him.

The Browns had the Hoodie before he was the Hoodie. If they hadn't fired him maybe we're making jokes about the Patriots today instead of the Browns.

Only Wehave would blame Romo for a loss where he played only one drive and it resulted in a TD pass that gave us the lead.

I feel you guys might enjoy this one.

One of my friend, who's a huge Cowboys fan, asked another one of my buddies to make him a giant size cutting board for Christmas. They're both from Texas and the other guy hates the Cowboys with a passion so they're always at it. So this is the cutting board that he finally received. :)

Absolutely right. Which is a big part of why the Browns have been so unsuccessful in recent years. It's not a curse, as much as a big portion of the fanbase wants to think, it's poor management from the front office. We've had a revolving door of quarterbacks and coaches. You can't get a single ounce of continuity with that being the case. There's a reason the Browns have been one of the few teams who haven't made much (if any) improvement since 1999. They've had two good years since coming back. 2002 (they made it to the playoffs) and 2007, which we all know in hindsight was a complete fluke. Derek Anderson somehow hit Braylon Edwards for 17ish TDs and Jamal Lewis had a career rushing season. They went 10-6, but still didn't make the playoffs because the Steelers beat them both times they faced off. They were total shit the following year.

And their offensive line was so horrible this season that the starting quarterback got knocked out of the game almost EVERY game. They had SIX... yes SIX different QBs under center this year. That's absolutely insane. Their problems run deep, but they need to stick with Jackson and not **** up the draft this year.

Haha... trust me... this makes me sad still. Everyone in Cleveland badmouths Belicheck, I'm in the minority for actually liking him. He's a great coach and gets results. Just wish he'd have had success in Cleveland that he's had in New England. :(

Giants terrible coverage gave up 7 at and of half.

they controled the game and then decided to give all the momentum back to gb with mediocre playcalling, and amateur hail marry defense against rodgers of all qb's...
Also Bekh did not make the plays to the momentum back.

I am not complaining though.....happy for GB

Fudge packers will beat Cowboys
We beat them already but a loss by the Packers would be a monumental upset. After all the 13-3 Cowboys are no match at all for the Packers.

If we pull a 1980esque Miracle on the Field, Wehave will have nowhere to hide.

Packers have horrible cornerbacks. It should be a good game. I just think AR will outduel DP.

I'll just be happy if I'm not working all of next weekend so that I can watch a game of something.

I think it's going to be a shootout and a game of who has the ball last wins.

I still don't like Dallas's defense and losing Gregory hurts a lot.

Yeah NFL screwed us re Gregory all while cutting Bellel's suspension. It has Mara written all over it.

Not even that, the Pats gets that drunk Malcolm Floyd playing for them. He should be suspended, but since he wasn't smoking that devil's lettuce, they'll let it slide until next season.

It's shit like that that just irritates me.
