He's a trusted source because unlike too many Americans Berman actually pays attention to the CFL and is qualified to make such comparisons.

The list of players who started in the CFL and went on to have success in the NFL is about the same length as the list of NFL players who came to the CFL and embarrassed themselves.
they were usually washed up has beens or never weres like Ferragamo. Granted White Shoes Johnson looked good up here.

Ferragamo was coming off a Super Bowl appearance (the Rams beat your Cowboys along the way, if I recall correctly)
Warren Moon, Joe Kapp, Harry Holt, Vernon Perry, Tom Cousineau are a few who did well in the NFL.
Ferragamo, Dexter Manley, Mark Gastineau, Laurence Phillips, and Johnny Football were busts in the CFL who everyone thought would dominate.
Dexturd was an old man as was Gastineau. Manziel and Phillips had off ice issues.
