OT: NFL Thread

The worst injuries are the ones where the skate hits the face / neck area. There's a few that have happened that I've never looked at and never will.

Runner-up: Chara trying to murder Pacioretty, I can't watch. Just can't.

Also: The leg breaks in MMA. Fucking hell.

Like Malarchuk?

Who was our player that got his larynx crushed blocking a slap shot?? That still gives me nightmares.

Malarchuk, Zednik are the two I remember the most. I never saw the video of Zednik, though.

Travis Moen getting a skate to the face scared the shit out of me.

Trent McCleary was bad, but it didn't seem so bad at the moment. It's only when you learn after the fact that he almost died from it that made it very scary.

I was at the Malarchuk game but on the other end

Horrific , fans were crying everywhere and I couldnt look in that direction

Even when I was a kid, I'd never, ever play a game if I didn't have a neck guard and I always thought it was crazy that players in pro leagues never had 'em.

I don't think there is a single player in our league that wears a neck guard these days.

That's madness to me. I get pro athletes, to an extent.

But in a rec league with people who play for the fun of it and as a social activity? Nah man. I'll wear my damn neck guard.

Canada wide, I think. Neck guard is required in the CMHA rule book for “minor and women’s hockey”. It is reinforced by provincial associations.
