OT or not OT that is the question.......

The number of threads (OT or otherwise) does not bother me. In fact, I prefer it when they are specific. It takes seconds to scan the thread titles -- it takes much longer to wade through a thread to find the desired content.

Same. I like specific titles so I know which ones to participate in by taste.

I think the solution is an OT sub forum with individual OT threads based on topic. It cleans up the Hockey board and allows those to peruse the OT section quickly to see if there is a topic they're interested in discussing.

win/win IMHO.

I don't like going to other locations.

It isn't another location, it's a link atop the Habs board. It opens the Habs subforum. Same place you xenophobe.

My guess is that almost nobody posts in a sub-forum.

It's that one whole extra click that gets people eh? Sprained fingers, hurt wrist ligaments... it could get ugly.

You know me... I post wherever there's action. I just know how people are on here. It's not so much that they don't like the extra click. It's more that if they don't see the thread on the main board they aren't going to click into the sub-forum and look for new threads. Of course some will... but most won't.

Or I could be wrong... wtf do I know?

A lot of Habs news also gets buried in the Habs News and Notes thread. Specific threads serve as a headline as well. Google the subject or topic, and it could even direct more new users here, contrarily, a general news and notes thread probably does not.

Tokarski is getting his 3rd straight tomorrow night. I believe that could have been a stand alone thread, not a blockbuster, but a justifiable current Hab thread that's bound to get more action than it got today in the news and notes thread. New injuries, trades, demotions, waivers....all of it, if it is current, why not a headline thread instead of insertion into the one of many serial, nondescript OT threads we've grown used to?

Specific threads shine a light and are better focused.

Sounds good here.

Agree on that

As long as we're allowed to start one circumcision thread a year, I'm good with anything you guys decide

I like the "mega thread" for smaller news items but with bigger news items like the shootings and elections I like the specified threads.

Kinda like what we've been doing I guess... maybe we can have a few more specified thread for bigger items.

That's my opinion as well. I had already PMed Lou about it.
