OT: Politics & News... Have at it.

Good lord the cabinet ministers are trying to book THEMSELVES on TV at this point. It really IS 2015.

Re this

Hon.Carla Qualtrough

Thanks for the follow @RosieBarton. Great work on @PnPCBC. Let me know if you ever want to talk Sport or about Persons with Disabilities.

Is that what they call using the legal system?

Oh he did what he could but still his whining was palpable. Only a Patriot homer can't admit he very likely had a hand in it. Granted, the NFL acted inappropriately and rightly the NFL got egg on its face in court (any day Goodell loses in court is a good day). However, that doesn't mean Brady didn't have a hand in deflating balls.

Oh, I'll bet he had a hand in it.

I just don't care.

nor would I expect you to.

I didn't care whether Bonds juiced, Ben Johnson juiced (he destroyed Carl Lewis which is all that mattered), whether Irvin stabbed a teammate with sissors, nor would I expect you to be upset over Spygate (nor would I expect you to expect me to care about Greg Hardy).

I do my very best to remain humble and non political on social media as much as possible...however this is a moment I had to share. I've had the distinct honour of getting to know Prime Minister Trudeau and his lovely wife Sophie over the past 4 years as they've both been to ‪#‎WeDay‬ multiple times. But yesterday was of huge significance as We Day Ottawa was their first public appearance since Mr. Trudeau has taken office.

I politely watched in the background as the Prime Minister and his wife walked backstage and just before they turned the corner the Prime Minister caught me out of the corner of his eye, stopped pushed his secret service out of the way and ran over to offer a hug and a quick hello, followed by his wife doing the same.

Regardless of what your political views are Mr. Trudeau and his wife Sophie were, and remain two of the most generous, sincere, humble and caring people I've ever met.

Congratulations Prime Minister and thank you so much for making this small town boy from Wyoming, who is now a permanent resident of Canada feel 10 feet tall.

PS Thanks Waneek Horn-Miller for capturing the moment.

Amen

Closing this monster thread in favor of single event OT news threads. Things get lost in such large multi topic threads like this. Look at the Paris Bombing thread for instance, even if it is a larger piece of news than usual. A multi topic thread has no advance billing of a piece of news like a specific thread, which is likely to draw more readers and debate. Once the relevancy of an OT topic goes by the wayside, so does the thread. However, if popular demand asks for the return of this thread....drop me a pm to join the potential uprising.

And of course, everyone is welcome to post OT threads.

Yeah, not a regime change move, or a cripple the Syrian military move, but a move designed to show assad that trump isn't going to tolerate the use of chemical weapons and a signal to Russia that trump doesn't care if they've allied themselves to assad, if assad crosses the line he will use military force against him.

All in all, a shot across the bow, a warning to everyone that he's not playing around.

I think also a sign to China that he will probably do the same regarding North Korea for if, probably when, they cross the line.
