OT: Soccer thread

Getting a pot of boiling water thrown at you in the industry is unfortunately way more common than one would believe. Gordon isn't the only abuser but he has certainly normalized it. People just find the behavior funny maybe because it's on tv. But the psychological and physical trauma is real.

Apparently they think he might make it back - though his ankle is still too swollen to take the mri so that's not good. Sounds like Hazard is out for the tourney tho.

I'm not going to feel bad tho. Italy is missing their captian Chiellini, their best player Verratti is barely fit, their starting right back is out, two key young midfielders Sensi and Pellegrini were fighting for starting spots and are both out, and maybe most importantly, this 21yr old genius couldn't recover from his major knee surgery in time for this tourney:

and then a long heavy backpass to their goalie goes right through him in to the net.

- spain scores hilarious own goal
- spain deservedly ties it up
- only then suddenly croatia looks dangerous rest of the half
- spain again dominates to start the 2nd
- spain scores a nice goal to take the lead
- spain scores again to take a COMMANDING lead with not much time
- spain cruising to an easy win
- crazy incident where croatia is hammering the ball over and over again off of spain defenders making miraculous goalline saves....but goal line review determines the ball actually crosses the line for a goal with 10 minutes left
- croatia COMES ALIVE
- rush after rush
- then scores an absolute beauty to tie with barely any time left
- on to extra time!
