OT: The News Thread

Lytton evacuated last minute, doesn’t look good for the village. We are getting a shit ton of smoke here now. None of the storms touched us here but nearly all the surrounding cities and towns had massive storms roll through. I’m expecting a lot of new fires by morning.

Be safe man, consider getting the fuck out early if you have somewhere to go. I was involved in the McMurray forest fires a few years back and the evacuations are a shit show, try to get ahead of them.

For sure I will. I was evacuated in 2017 so I know how this show goes. Actually looks pretty decent today. Lytton, however is no more. Fire came too fast, it could have happened in a worse place or better. I think they have only like 250 people who live there. There were a lot of towns that were much bigger holding their breath last night.

Edit: For those that don’t know, what happened was essentially 2 storms made from the smoke clouds from the fires in the area converged into one super storm that brought crazy dry lightning in its wake. This sort of thing is mostly found happening in the Midwest and with more traditional storm clouds. It very often ends up with tornadoes down there though.

Water isn't supposed to.....be able to catch....on fire...right?

I skipped school too often when I was young, smoked too much of the devil's lettuce, but I could swear that I remember that not being a thing that was possible.
