OT: The News Thread

TLDR for anyone not wanting to dig through two court filings:

- This Balboni prick spent most of his time on this project his production company was making trying to sexually harass/fuck Blake Lively and other cast members. It was overt and most of it pretty gross. This isn't a case of him putting his foot wrong, making a bad joke, etc. This is a concerted effort to be a predatory douche over a long period of time with full cover fire provided by his billionaire business partner.

- When it became clear this was going public, he hired a PR firm to manage it and the PR manager from the firm (Abel) brought in a crisis manager (Melissa Nathan). They decided that the right way to protect their client was an aggressive bot driven social media campaign to ruin Blake Lively (and Ryan Reynold's) careers as punishment for speaking back to Balboni. This strategy was hidden by Abel and Nathan from the firm they were representing and was not approved by the firm (Jonesworks). Those two hatched a plan to steal clients from Jonesworks and slander Jones in the process (which they're now being sued for)

This kind of shit is exactly why my radar goes up as soon as the internet and social media in general spontaneously starts hating a particular woman celebrity with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns seemingly out of nowhere.

And I’ve for sure noticed a massive uptick of “Blake Lively is a piece of shit/the worst celebrity I’ve ever dealt with” content on Reddit in recent months. Hopefully Lively & Reynolds thoroughly ruin this guy’s life.

This also really drives home how thoroughly fucked you’d be if you’re just some random broke young actress trying to break into the business and you reject the wrong guy’s advances, when this can happen to an established star who, along with her husband, has a combined net worth of almost half a billion.

I'm sure I read somewhere that after 9 years of Trudeau and because of the carbon tax, life is now unaffordable.

If that's true, why was every airport terminal I walked through in the past week jam-packed? Why was every flight I took fully booked?

And why did the OPP have to shut down a highway off ramp to a mall because of congestion?

Doesn't sound too me like the carbon tax is high enough.

Ya wording is officials are saying bird strike “may have” caused landing gear malfunction. Then other stories with experts saying it’s unlikely. So maybe a bit premature.

no snow down in Hali either. but once you get off the peninsula, there is a sprinkling.

biked home thru ice pellets last night though

4 year old had to wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me how sad it was that grandpa (southern Alberta) didn't have any snow.
