I think Obama is doing everything in his power not to get involved in the Syrian conflict. The problem is he went and drew a line in the sand when it came to chemical weapons, and now Assad has crossed it. His only chance to avoid it now is to buy into (whether he believes it or not) the Assad/Russian fairy tale that the rebels gassed themselves.

Situations like this are why I would have preferred Hillary in the job. Obama is a nice enough guy, but part of the job description is commander in chief, a title where being nice can be an impediment.
 
The chemical weapons line is not just a line in the sand. The western world won't put up with that.

This. You don't wanna get involved in Syria? Ok, fine, I can see that argument. But don't do the absolute WORST possible thing of all- do nothing after telling the world you would do something if a line was crossed. A FP blunder of the highest order.

Normally, I would celebrate crippling Iran's vassal state but not when those who will take over are no better then the ones they replaced. There are no good outcomes in Syria.

Does the West really want to save people who do this? And this is not some isolated incident.

Even if the western world provides proof, the rest of the world, and pretty well everyone on the internet will say the evidence is false, planted by the CIA, yadda yadda.

There's only one way to solve the problems in the middle east.

This whole Hannah Anderson case is really weird. I truly do not believe that she is as innocent as the media want you to believe. Her behavior has been odd to say the least.

I get a real fame seeker vibe from her. She is loving the attention.

Who goes on the Internet to answer questions from her so called "fans" as she puts it, less than 24 hours after being rescued from being kidnapped and finding out her Mother and brother have been murdered? Plus, taking a picture of herself before the chat wearing slutty clothes?

Police found hand written notes from her to DiMaggio which she says were because she and her mother were having problems and he was helping her? What 16 year old writes hand written letters to begin with in this day and age? And what 16 year old talks about problems to their fathers 40 plus friend about her mother?

Then the day of the kidnapping she exchanged 13 texts with him which she says were him asking where to pick her up from cheer practice. Really? 13 texts to say I'm at the gym?

There is also the trip to Hollywood that DiMaggio took her on for a weekend earlier this year. Hannah's friends (who aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer) said she thought he was creepy. Yet, she goes on a weekend trip with him and her parents allow it?

I'm not denying that DiMaggio was mentally troubled and an awful person.

However, this girl is not as innocent as she claims. Police keep telling her not to say anything and yet she keeps going on TV.

Western World needs to withdraw the bases, the support and let these barbarians fight it out themselves. It is not worth it.

I agree that something about the whole story seems really weird but when you think about it 13 total texts between two people when you're describing where to meet someone isn't really abnormal...

If its 13 total texts then yes I agree. I may have misread the article I was reading. I thought she had sent him 13 texts but your probably right.
