OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Decent fight tonight on second half of back to back. but just couldn’t contain Paul or SGA. SGA is a real talent. Also had to fight the refs tonight as well.

Getting kind of done with the constant rape fest that the Raps face on a nightly basis from the refs. It's so obviously one-sided it's painful.

Eh Devlin is pretty influential I guess. Bit of a baby at times. Don't think the reffing was all that bad. FVV got an even up call after the Paul miss. Couple other missed calls both ways but otherwise meh

Doubled in free throws on consecutive nights. That Chris Paul no call was just embarrassing. Boucher was essentially close lined on his alley-oop with no call. Just ticky tack shit the other way on Kyle in the 2nd quarter.

Open your eyes.

I don't disagree that there have been some bad games and there are horrible calls on both ends every game.

But they didn't lose because of the refs tonight. They got outplayed. Devlin is influential and has convinced an entire fanbase that the NBA wants Toronto to lose. I get that. He's convincing and even I fall for the trap at times. But tonight that was not the case.

A top 5-7 NBA team should never be doubled in free throws on consecutive nights, especially at home when calls tend to favor the home team. It's ridiculous and has nothing to do with how influential Matt Devlin is or isn't.

This goes without saying, but if KAT is available and unhappy as the reports would lead us to believe, Masai needs to be ALL OVER that.

OG, Norm, Ibaka, 3 1st round picks enough to get it done?

I'd be willing to throw in Boucher and/or Davis as well. Talents like KAT are hard to find, especially when they are not 1 year rentals. Could do wonders with him, Lowry, Siakam, and Van Vleet. Would be willing to move any other combinations to bring him here including multiple picks. GS will likely be interested as well and can offer DLo but if they want a bigger more lucrative package, the Raptors can be competitive with their plethora of young/cheap rotation pieces and draft picks/salary to go the other way.

Showing my basketball naivety, who is KAT?

Wow, never heard of that guy before. Number one overall pick too. Lol.

I will say this, I hope to god, Golden State doesn't get him. I am sick of their winning and douchey org.

If we don't get someone to compliment SIakam up front, there is NO way we win the overall NBA championship. So yeah, be nice to see Masai go for it two years in a row.

I don't think Paul George is looking like peak Paul George. Yet.

I don't think KAT is ready to pull the pin there yet, despite talking about this specific scenario just a couple of months ago. First year of a new 5 year deal gives the Wolves a bit of runway to try to work with KAT. I think it's more likely that we see a big 3 way deal though that moves D'lo to the wolves to play with KAT, and uses this apparent rededication to basketball as an escape hatch to get out from under his contract.

Swapping out Wiggins for D'Lo doesn't make Minnesota much better right now, but bringing in one of KAT's best friends would give them another year or two for them to put a decent team on the court before he pulls the 'chute.

I'm also going to say something that I thought 6 months ago would be crazy....unless Masai is fucking convinced that we're big players in the 2021 free agency bonanza, I'm not convinced that Wiggins is a bust with the way he's played this season and us being that team might not be the worst thing in the world. He's not a finished product by any means, but he's taken a big step up from the trainwreck he was turning into and has apparently found his work ethic. Strap an improved 3 point shot on there, put him in a system/organization where he's expected to work and learn and I think there might still be a star in there. Wouldn't give up much of fuck all for him, but if Masai doesn't see us bringing in a stud to play with Pascal, trying to build our own out of Wiggins isn't a terrible idea anymore.

Yeah the canadian angle is starting to sound appealing.

It seems to be giving us a legit advantage over the american teams finally. These kids all want to play here maybe more than they want to play anywhere else.

Frustrating game to watch tonight. Heat are playing zone most of the game and the raptors are just trying to toss it up from 3. That’s fine if your hitting. But they ain’t. So move the god damn ball to the middle and cut/slash to the basket.... played against a zone my whole life. And they are pretty easy to break
