OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

After a 48-hour wait that felt days longer, the Toronto Raptors announced Friday that all of the COVID-19 test results that were recently performed have come back negative after learning that a pair of recent opponents — Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz — had acquired the virus.

Props to this guy for owning up to his mistake right away, and then turning around and doing something positive about it.

The Utah Jazz announced Saturday afternoon that All-Star center Rudy Gobert is donating $500,000 to support both the employee relief fund at Vivint Smart Home Arena and COVID-related social services relief in Utah, Oklahoma City and within the French health care system.

Gobert became the first NBA player to test positive for the coronavirus shortly before tip-off of Wednesday's game in Oklahoma City against the Thunder. A short time late, the game was postponed, and within hours the NBA had suspended its season for a minimum of 30 days.

"I am humbled by the tireless efforts and care of people around the globe for those affected by COVID-19, especially my own communities of Utah and France, in addition to my appreciation for the state of Oklahoma and my care there, and of course, my Utah Jazz family," Gobert said in a statement.

Against the backdrop of a global pandemic, NBA owners and executives are bracing for the possibility of mid-to-late June as a best-case scenario for the league's return, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

Fears exist of a season completely lost, especially based on what some experts see as the slow response of the United States to flatten the curve of the coronavirus and make testing available on a widespread basis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a recommendation on Sunday night that no events or gatherings should include more than 50 people for the next eight weeks.

The league office has given teams no guidance yet on a timeline for a resumption of play, but organizations themselves are preparing for the possibility of a long hiatus based upon the facts surrounding the coronavirus outbreak.

So it turns out that the shit-biscuit Sheriff's Deputy who tried to block Masai from going on-court to celebrate the Raptors' championship and subsequently sued Masai for the supposed extensive injuries that have kept him from returning to work since has a history of this kind of thing.

Back in the 90's, he pleaded no-contest to felony insurance fraud and making false statements. This apparently lead to his application being rejected when he tried to become an actual police officer.

Hopefully MLSE's lawyers absolutely bury this guy.

Lol. Boucher trying to blend in with people a foot shorter than him.

“The Toronto Raptors’ Chris Boucher has apologized through social media channels for disregarding a self-isolation edict from the team and the NBA after taking a test for the coronavirus.

Boucher was spotted shopping at a downtown Toronto Loblaws last Thursday, after he had been tested for the rampaging virus following the team’s return from a western road trip two days earlier.

“A few days ago, I broke our team-mandated self-quarantine,” Boucher said on his social media feed. “I want to apologize to the city of Toronto, our fans and the Raptors organization.”

Just burned a year before Giannis inevitably comes to Toronto. Poor Kawhi and LeBron trying to own each other for no reason.

Yeah....under rated point. If Milwaukee doesn't make the NBA finals next year, it makes Giannis way more likely to bolt.

Sucks for LeBron for sure. He’s 35 and could start declining soon.

he is a freak of nature

If the league shuts down the extra rest may help him long term

I think he wants to play with his son in 3-4 years if he makes the league

I dont see a decline for about 2 more years and an effective role player at 40

Slam dunk to be the all time points leader in 2-3 years barring injury
