OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

We can't defend, we can't pass, we waste a bunch of time running these DHO motion sets to generate low quality shots. I'd talk about the roster quality, but getting dog walked by a starting lineup with Clowney, Johnson, and Ben fucking Simmons in it isn't a roster quality issue.

The difference between this looking good and not isn't RJ being on the court.

fire masai?

Said it a few days ago, this year is already a write off and he was using the "R" word this year anyway so expectations are what they are whatever I want them to be. This summer though, no fucking around. Every summer I see a bunch of good rotation and role players move around the league for cheap, guys that we could use and would make us better that we're never after. This summer can't just be running back everyone from this year who is under contract, a few new rookies and expecting shit to get better. If we do that, yeah I'm starting to get on that train of replacing management.

If you want to blow it up for real, go nuts. Trade Scottie, RJ, IQ and start over. But if that's your core, build a competitive team around it, let's go.

nah i want to see what they can do. first game back for IQ in months and RJ out and apparently the team with a flu bug ain't the time to judge yet.

would suck to not get a read on the team for an entire season tho. they need to get healthy now just so we know what we have.

but either way trading all of olynyk boucher brown mitchell seems like a no brainer that wouldn't even hurt the healty roster and could get some asset.s

Oh I agree, I'm just calling my shot. I think there's coaching and morale issues going on that health isn't going to fix this year.

they sure don't look like they're well coached that's true. and their confidence is obviously completely shot right now and frustration is through the roof.

then again, a whole bunch of players look better than i thought they would so maybe coach is doing something right.

it's just annoying that we literally haven't once seen a healthy starting lineup all year. and most of the time not even half of it.

this is also on masai just because Davion is so fucking terrible.

Yeah, I've been bitching about needing at least a good veteran combo guard here for how long? It's for stuff like that. Running the bench offence, filling in competently when your starting PG is out, etc.

If we're trying to, you know, be good and win games and stuff, I wouldn't mind if we turned some of this expiring salary into Cj McCollum

hey yeah i mean i said davion stunk when we got him.

i'm glad that so many of the young guys have been better than expected but the lack of depth on this roster coming into the season was scary.

I don't like that Mogbo and Battle have kind of been dropped from the rotation even with RJ and Brown out.

But i guess we gotta try to goose the bench vets' trade values too.

But yeah it couldn't be clearer that they need to clean out all the bench vets - olynyk boucher brown mitchell.

Poeltl 29 ----- Mogbo 23 --- (Chomche 19)
Barnes 23 --- Battle 23
Barrett 24 --- Agbaji 24
Dick 21 ----- Walter 20
Quickley 25 - Shead 22

Hopefully that's what we're left with after the deadline, and hopefully they're healthy, and we can see if we have anything at all here.

I mean he's probably a fine PG tbh but having an even better PG on the court with him makes his life so much easier.

He's a very bottom tier starting PG imo. Good playmaker but just good, turnover prone, up and down as a shooter/scorer in the half court. Not great as a point of attack defender on the other side of the ball either, he's way better playing free safety.
