OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Poor boomer Zeke getting rage baited by social media again

iu

“I left [Denver] obviously because I got paid really well; I didn’t want to leave,” Brown said. “It was tough to leave, but I had to. I was in a place like Indy, which was on the verge of being really good. And I ended up being traded to teams where they were rebuilding and not really in a position to win a championship. And if you know how I play, I like to win. I don’t like to lose.

“So, as soon as I got to Toronto, I thought about coming back to Denver right away. Fast forward to getting traded to New Orleans. Another tough spot. A lot of injuries there. And the whole time I was in New Orleans, I was thinking about the Nuggets.” “

You used to be young and cool Zeke, what happened?

Mogbo pushed right to the back of the rotation.

I don't see space in the rotation for both him and CMB and Mamu is >> both imo and super necessary as a floor spacer on the 2nd unit.

There's two situations that are interesting to me back there

Mogbo vs CMB: I'm not surprised to see CMB get the first set of reps there. May as well see what he is immediately. He's either ready now or he's not and if he's not that's fine. He'll get 905 reps and Mogbo is probably good enough to be an okay bench players this year. If CMB is ready, then Mogbo is back of the bench, which is also fine.

Dick vs Jakobe vs Okai: I only see minutes for two. I know there's a lot of "trade RJ" talk but I don't see that this year unless there is a significant breakout from someone else cheaper on the roster to replace him, we find an upgrade, or a similar level player who fits what we want better (3&D).

Among the 3, this is a make or break year for Dick imo. If he's still terrible defensively I just don't see him in our plans moving forward and expect a trade at some point because he'll start losing playing time to JaKobe. Okai is the lowest ceiling of the 3, but the nerd metrics say he was the best of the 3 last year. He's more or less the type of guy I think they want to replace RJ with, he just probably isn't good enough at that role to be the guy they replace RJ with. But, he makes too much money to sit on the back of the bench too, so if he starts of slow, his ass will be on the back of the bench until he's traded mid season.

i dunno that Mamu is actually good but mogbo might not be either.

I do kinda like most of the guys 12-deep so we're in an ideal situation to package some guys for a bigtime player.

yeah if he's actually a good 3pt guy but his track record there is spotty. And he's not really a post player and not really a perimeter player either unless the shot is real.

I'm a believer in his shot, I think he just needs a legit regular role. He does a lot of the things with the ball that Jak does, but obviously has a pick and pop ability that I think will work well with Scottie or Ingram. His defence is what might keep him off of the court, but on a 2nd unit with one of CMB/Mogbo, Shead, probably Walter at some point, I think we'll settle for meh defence and give him consistent minutes. I think he can be pretty solid in ~15 minutes a night, matchup depending.
