Yeah, more live sports is good. I'm not out here watching CHL hockey and kind of don't give a shit about men's NCAA sports either, but I'd much rather see more live sports on sports channels than the filler shit you're referencing, 100%

I can get into most sports but I kinda need a hook first - some sort of interesting storyline or someone doing something historic helps.

I'd agree with BG as well, way too much filler.
 
Well the only NCAA sports that I will watch and "follow" are Football and Basketball.

But my caveats are these:

  • Football: Ranked Teams - One loss means a lot - like A LOT. It is the difference between a good season or a disappointing season. Well now with the new playoff system, that might move to 2 losses. Also while you weren't looking (maybe you were?), with the Conferences realignment and the huge TV money deals, they have basically created a "Premier" League with 2 Conferences that hold all the power and talent (SEC and The Big 10) while the ACC and Big 12 want to form a "Champion" League with the rest of the "big" Schools. Then you get the one offs Schools looking to get into the "big" Conferences. Super interesting Story-line's wise with big time money and reputations of their backers. Plus they are getting paid now, so less icky.
  • Basketball: March Madness - Win or go home. And upsets. That is about it. I can't watch a regular game without that stipulation as the game just isn't that interesting.

I don't think he'll ever be good but anyone who can drop 50 in a game could have been developed into a functioning role player at minimum.
