OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

yeah raps are a good watch for the first time in a long while.

sure hope we get to see them somewhere close to healthy at some point.
This is what you want. The record won't be good, but steps forward in the rebuild occur. I did not see Dick being this good this fast.

The only reason the record isn't good is that they're missing their two best players. They also have the highest strength of schedule in the league right now while missing their two best players. This isn't a tank team.

Agreed a healthy squad is a playoff team

Nice to see Philly and Bucks shitting the bed as well

Milwaukee will fire Doc at some point and sort their shit out. Philly should also be too good to stay like this long term. Washington, Detroit, and Charlotte are still terrible though, we'll pass them if we can stay healthy for a few weeks. Hawks are pretty shit too, I think we're going to end up better than them by mid season. Pacers and Heat are the teams to watch from the "safe" group of EC playoff teams imo. Pacers offence has been good just good so far when it's supposed to be elite, and they're the same bad defensive team they were last year. The Heat are just mediocre at everything and I don't think waiting for playoff Jimmy to save them is a thing anymore. He's still pretty good, but he's not a top 20 player anymore imo.

are any of our guys coming back any time soon?

fucking hell it seems like they're all months away for non-surgery injuries. wtf.

Scottie re evaluated in about 10 days. I'm going to bet that he's playing in a mask shortly after with the fracture not needing surgery. Quickley was originally listed as doubtful against the Kings, and later downgraded to out. So probably not far off.

Olynyk and Brown probably a month or more away still.

So it seems that the players we want progressing are in fact progressing.

But, there seems to be some problems with Darkos' tactics.

Could it be that Darkos' main strength is in player development and he might lack in in-game tactics? Those can be taught right? Or he can hire an assistant to help him with that, right?

so is Mogbo legit? what's his realistic ceiling?

Hard to know. Without a jump shot? Budget Draymond. Like, think of Draymond if he had only ever been good enough to be a bench version of himself.

With even an average corner 3? Something not too dissimilar than the Nuggets champ version of Aaron Gordon.

Not sure he's even tried a jumper in game yet.

But his passing and vision looks good, and his bounce+length looks elite.

yeah, no shit VC, it should have been flipped

Carter: Raptors should retire Lowry's jersey next
