Kneuppel?

Yeah, he's moved up a bunch of mocks into the top 6-7 but hard, hard mehhhh. He will probably be a goodish to good NBA rotation player but the few things other than shooting that he does well at the NCAA level, I don't see translating to the NBA. He ran point a bunch in Duke's half court and I simply see that basically never happening in the NBA with his lack of high level handle. But, he should be able to turn into someone who can make the right pass in the NBA which considering he profiles as a maybe elite level shooter, is pretty okay. He's a good defender at the NCAA level, but I'm skeptical he's more than okay defensively in the NBA on lack of physical tools.

I take at least Newell, Maluach, Queen, & Richardson over Kneuppel and that's before we see what weirdo combine numbers come out (and some more/better video on some internationals like Traore and Essengue). I don't like the idea of being safe with a top 7 pick. Take a swing at a talent.

Yeah i feel like we have too many no ceiling guys as it is, take a swing, but this is the problem of not taking and not mattering and being in the murky 7 spot.

I've spent more time with some Maluach videos because it feels likely and I don't hate the idea as much as I did before the sit down. There is functioning jump shot form in there so the possibility of some limited stretch 5 action and he's legit massive (7'2 w 7'5 wingspan) with good hands and a decent nose for the rim. I could see an analytics darling rim runner in there similar to Allen or Duren. I don't know if that's necessarily a need with Poeltl and Chomche in house already, or even if that's the best prospect available at the ~7 pick (as mentioned, I'm kind of high on Asa Newell as a swing for talent) but I don't think it's crazy anymore.

A lot of the mocks i see have Maluach to us, and say because Africa, without directly saying because Africa.

I do appreciate your actual analysis
 
eh i dunno. if KAT was the stud scorer they say he is he should be an epic 2nd option and OG/Bridges/Hart should be plenty of off-ball help.

American analysts are lazy and rank their give a fuck to write about the Raptors somewhere between Sacramento and New Orleans. Muricans and gonna Murican. Throw into the mix that our Raptors media has devolved into dogshit since the championship and yeah, most the analysis just sucks now. Yeah, I keep seem Maluach cuz Africa and I don't really buy it. Masai passed on Kuminga to take Scottie and hasn't reached on an African at the draft yet.

Don't know if you're watching, but the Knicks just had two turnovers in a row because when Brunson isn't on the floor other people handle the ball to run the offence, Payne and Hart with back to back hilarious turnovers. Cam Payne shouldn't be the second most accomplished ball handler/offensive engine on your team. KAT is a quality offensive player but he isn't a guy who runs a modern offence. OG, McBride, and Mikal are more or less the same guy in a Thibs system, stand there, wait to be open and shoot.
