OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Trade everything other than Scottie. Hold on to IQ if you can, but don't let him be a roadblock. Try to push out RJ rather than BI if possible, if there's any choice there.

Don't think we can even trade BI until December

Gutting the organization to add Giannis is just a good way to not be good for the next 2 years and have him leave in free agency to go somewhere to win.

We're not in the position yet where one big move puts us over the top, and even if we gut the organization, an OKC or SAS offer is still better looking and they do it without gutting their teams.
 
Giannis-Scottie is a contending duo.

Not just skillwise but both hardworking gritty two-way players.

figure out everything else after.
 
The thing is, SAS is going to offer something similar to

#2nd overall
#14th overall
Harrison Barnes (1 yr left on deal)
Darius Vassell (similarish to RJ overall, signed 4 more years 105 million...which is a bargain in the modern NBA)
and then future 1sts if necessary.

OKC is going to offer something like

Chet
Dort
Joe
#15th overall
#24th overall
and then they have a bucket of 1sts over the next 3 years.

RJ isn't going to cut it as the best young player involved, I'm not sure there are many execs who would take RJ+IQ over Chet fwiw and I don't think there are many who would take Chet over the 2nd overall. Scottie is the only name that gets us into that end of the conversation imo.

Giannis-Scottie-BI = 130 million. Assuming RJ+IQ gets it done, now add Jake = 150 million, Ochai another 6. Cap is 154, so there's no money free agents coming to help. We're into the MLE and re signing our own guys (Boucher) just to add starting guards, and a few rotation players.

C - Jake
PF - Giannis
SF - Scottie
SG - Ingram
PG - LOL...
6 - Boucher
7 - Ochai
8 - Walter

Add in whatever we can get with the MLE...yeah, that can't shoot and isn't winning anything.
