The Rays have such an impressive front office. They have actual "parameters", and they just go for it. Looks like they got more for Pham than they gave up for him last year, despite him being a year closer to FA and more expensive.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Renfroe take the next step in Tampa, in which case he'll be another valuable asset that they'll probably make the most of.
It's tough being both outspent and badly outsmarted by division rivals. But at least we have the Orioles.

Renfroe's kind of meh but Edwards is a really interesting prospect. Love the trade for the Rays.

At one point the narrative from this admin and their followers was that 2021 was the first true window year of the Vlad tenure.
The problem is that this time next year the Jays are going to need to find at least 2 (probably 3) starters via trade or Free Agency.
Not gonna happen.
The poor showing this offseason is pushing the Jays window into Vlad, Bo, Jansen and Biggio's arb years where they will have less money. They needed to find someone this offseason to be a decent to good piece for the next few years.
Things are not going well for this management group.
It.is now starting to impact Vlad's "control years."
