OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

I don't mind it. If Shaw bounces back, he could have some value at the trade deadline.

Also a bit of insurance against another Vladdy injury.

If you remove the nostalgia its a smarter signing than EE, who they could still sign if they trade Teo or are cool with him as an OF. Would have preferred a team option on this Shaw deal tho

Shaw is a good signing for a Jays team that will suck. Good bounce back candidate. Might turn out to be terrible or he might be their best FA signing ever.

Too bad this likely means no EE. Would have loved to see him here again.

He literally could just be a Drury upgrade. Im not holding my breath but its possible

I'd expect that's his primary purpose. Someone who you might actually be comfortable running out every game, and could even get back to the point where his bat plays as a 1B

Reports are that Shaw will be the primary 1B.

It really sucks that the majority of the players Shatkins has picked up have 0 to negative value.

We need to start clearing the shit. Get rid of McKinney, Drury, Fisher and potentially even Hernandez. I assume by June we will be ready to move on from Anderson and Roark too.

Is Gurriel the only player they've aquired that has plus vlaue? Not counting the one year deal guys like Sogard, Galvis, etc.

All this going on while we creep closer to Vlads arb years.

Shaw is fine but they continue to show they have no interest in acquiring difference making players, either through trade or free agency.
