OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

It’s an incredible accomplishment. Fuck the Yankees, but good for Judge.

Weird argument though: 61 HR is objectively not the record. AL record sure (does anyone care about AL records?) and definitely one if the most impressive, probably-not-steroid-aided HR seasons ever. That’s not quite as snappy a headline.

Seattle wins, Tampa loses.

If the Jays go 3-3 the rest of the way, Tampa would need to go 5-2 and Seattle would need to go 6-3 to finish ahead of Toronto.

Tampa has a tough schedule having to play Cleveland one more time and then three at Houston.

Seattle has an easy sched still against last place teams.

Jays are in a good shape. They are better than 3-3 and neither Tampa or Seattle are strong enough to pull off their end. I think 3-3 would he good enough, 4-2 should definitely do it.

Looks like the Jays will get home field in the wildcard series.

Seattle is half a game back of Tampa with a game in hand. Go Mariners.

Would be interesting to see the 1977 expansion cousins meet for the first time in the playoffs. Also a Gausman-Ray matchup would be fun.

America is divided about everything; why not the HR record? I expect a few school shootings and some awful Tucker segments to come out of this. Hope the system holds.

Which park is more hitter friendly ....Toronto , TB or Seattle

There's still enough time left in the season that I don't think we can really call it backing in, but nice to have that official. Hopefully they can lock up home field early enough to line up the rotation for the wildcard round.

Unfortunately appropriate way to clinch.

Hopefully we're in for a good playoffs run (which they're more than capable of winning) but even though they made the playoffs this 90 win regulsr season is still disappointing to me.

It’s not the 1980s and they didn’t win the division.

With expanded playoffs, 40% of the teams in the league make the playoffs. It’s good, of course, but we’re allowed to have higher expectations.

Wait, what am I missing here - there's 6 games left and TB and Seattle are 1.5-2 games behind us. If we lost all 6 and they each won 3, then they're both ahead of us, so what's the deal?
