OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

I struggle with the idea of Ihtani signing here without being convinced Bo and Vlad aren’t here long term. Or he probably has an opt out after 2 at minimum
Sign me up. One of the best hitters in baseball for next year and then one of the best hitters and pitchers the year after. Give him $100 million over the first two years and then something like 8/500 if he stays.

I don’t think that kind of thing actually happens. He’s not making demands from teams over who will be on their 2026 rosters.
He cant make demands, but he can see that those guys are 2 years out and worry about becoming Angels North.

Winning, i assume is his number 1 priority, and our future stability looks murky

Ohtani and Soto would be a decent pair to add to the lineup.

Ohtani
Bichette
Soto
Guerrero
Springer
Kirk/Jansen
Schneider
Varsho
Someone at 3B

They’re out on Ohtani, so now they need the Soto rumours to pick up, all they want is to stay in a positive, exciting light until the new year and everyone signs/traded elsewhere so they can act like they were right here with the best Olof the league. They’ll have a worse lineup on paper opening day. Maybe it translates to a better team, maybe it’s an 80 win team but on paper, I bet opening day roster is worse than lasts
