Yeah, I mean that seems reasonable. Obviously would love it if those bottom 4 weren't so terrible and could actually push up and displace the top group, but based purely on performance, that's basically the best lineup.

What is crazy about the start to the season is that basically all the new comers have done what they where suppose to do, but the returning "vets" have shit the bed.

Past calendar year WAR:

1. Varsho 3.2
2. Jansen 2.6
3. Bichette 2.5
4. Schneider 2.3
5. Kiermaier 2.3
6. Springer 2.3
7. Kirk 1.9
8. Biggio 1.7
9. Turner 1.7
10. Falefa 1.4
11. Clement 1.0
12. Guerrero 0.8
13. Vogelbach -0.2

Past calendar year WAR/650pa:

1. Schneider 6.9
2. Jansen 6.3
3. Clement 6.0
4. Kiermaier 3.9
5. Varsho 3.7
6. Biggio 3.0
7. Kirk 2.9
8. Bichette 2.7
9. Falefa 2.3
10. Springer 2.2
11. Turner 1.8
12. Guerrero 0.8
13. Vogelbach -0.5

Definitely some age-related concern about Springer. Bo & Vlad don't make any sense, however. In their prime and, one would assume, locks to turn it around.

Bo:
Career wRC+ and OPS: 123 / .813
This year: 62 / .557

Vlad:
Career wRC+ and OPS: 129 / .837
This year: 104 / .683

Yeah, Bo and Vlad have to turn it around. Maybe not all-star levels but even if they just do their league average the rest of the season, that would be big.

Would also be nice to get Belt-level production from Vogelbach or Votto when he's back. Turner's been great, but given how he's hitting, I don't know if I can blame Schneider for not using him more.

They should have extended Jansen in the offseason, if not earlier: he was willing to discuss. Yes, he’s going to miss half of every season due to injury, but on a rate basis he’s one of the best C in franchise history. Even when you consider how many games he misses, Jansen’s production stats are top notch for a C.

He'll be traded at the deadline for a AAAA pitcher
