OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Boys are crushing some baseballs today.
Its the god damn White Sox.

No one should react with any long term sense of satisfaction if they sweep this series, and anything less is probably a failure.

In fact, im sure the press analytics team that the front office employs strategically positioned Ross' press conference of nonsense prior to this stretch of garbage so that if they play well it looked better with his vote of confidence.

If we are selling, and we probably should be i would try to cash in on Turner ( who has cratered since the league found out he cant hit high fastballs, which most of us already knew) and Yimi.

Turner because, the return is probably weak no matter who is running things, so Ross can make this deal, and it opens up a spot for Horwitz/Barger who deserve to play but dont have a spot as for some reason KK and IKF are still regulars and in the case of Horwitz the only real path to playing is Vlad/Turner gone or injury.

Yimi i'd move early just cause he's a RP and anything can happen, so get the best deal now before he gets hurt.

it's still shocking to me what a big deal Buck and Dan are making about Jansen hitting in the 2 hole.

not to mention the manager being so insistent that "nothing is set in stone" with this move.

relax, guys, it's not that big a deal. nothing should ever be set in stone with a batting order.

no, they talked about what a big deal it was that he was hitting in the 2 hole.
Buck is a god damn dinosaur, a C batting second probably goes against everything he's ever heard of.

He also probably has no actual clue that Jansen is like, their best hitter.

Schulman is probably just being polite.

And frankly, the batting order should have been changed to this 3 weeks ago.

Springer got wayyyy too long of a leash, just as how IKF/KK are getting way too long of a leash as everyday players, and Biggio on the roster at all.

they kind of made a big deal of the fact that it was the first time he had ever hit in the 2 hole ... because it was the first time he had ever hit in the 2 hole. Because it's interesting, he had a monster game, and they have to talk for 3 hours straight.

they talked about it all game long, from before he even had a hit, all the way to the end. they mentioned what a big deal the manager thought it was, so much so that he had to go out of his way to say the move wasn't permanent, as if any batting order should be permanent.

pro-tip 1: it's not a big deal
pro-tip 2: Jansen has been the best hitter on the team for a while now

1. i watched the game
2. you're overstating it
3. we all agree it's not a big deal

In Axl's defense.

They do need to talk for 3 hours and honestly, at this stage, Buck doesn't really have anything relevant to offer anyways, so sure, talk up a lineup change at least it's somewhat relevant even if he's fucking archaic.

so it's a very big deal, and yet it's so not a big deal that we could see somebody else batting 2nd tomorrow?

yes, clearly the manager who has refused to make this obvious easy move for so long for no good reason, and who went out of his way to say it wasn't permanent after making the move, thinks this type of move is a very big deal. obviously.

Hardest media job in sports. I have no idea how they fill the air.

okay you're right, this is a super duper huge big deal that everyone agrees is amazing and revolutionary, and Danny Jansen must now be the #2 hitter because it's such a big deal, at least until they face a starting pitcher where it makes sense to hit Varsho at #2 which because this was such a big deal, probably has no chance of happening until at least like Thursday
