OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Yeah, I'd take Suarez-Williams are our big name haul

Gausman
Trey
Suarez
Bieber
Berrios

Williams
Hoffman
Varland

add one more secondary 7th inning guy to go with Varland and that's cooking. I'd like another corner OF stick, but also have minimal if any qualms about a Lukes-Schneider tandem.

I think you can find a IKF/France upgrade fairly cheaply, even amongst some NRI

I too would drool over Bo/Ranger/Williams/RP offseason

I think they’re gonna bring Bassitt back in some role on a 1 year deal. He desperately wants to stay, which is pretty cool.

An OF i would give a 1 year deal to would be Lane Thomas who had an offyear last year but traditionally mashes LHP and is a decent OF

If we're looking to fill that role (lefty masher OF) Austin Hays, or if we're just looking for a glove that won't embarass himself with the stick, Cedric Mullins. Who isn't a CF anymore, but would still probably be plus in the corners.

Mullens looked cooked last year and has one of the weakest arms in MLB, i'd prefer a RHH as well.

Hays is interesting, in the same vein as Thomas

I want better than running it back, and we really only have space for 1 more SP unless we move someone out.

Also, the cost between Bassitt and something like Suarez is going to be like 7 million next year. Bassitt is a reliable #4-5 at this point, Suarez is 15th in MLB in WAR among SP over the last 3 years combined and could easily be the best starter on our staff next year.

The Jays need a real stopper to close out games. Who is the best one available?
Edwin Diaz

but his floor is 4/100 and works for the Mets and his brother is a Dodger, so....

Devin Williams
Robert Suarez
Pete Fairbanks
Ryan Helsley
Brad Keller

Any of these 5 dudes would be an upgrade on, or a 1A 1B with Hoffman in our Pen

Diaz would be nice, but Devin Williams is also really, really filthy and would pretty quickly take the job from Hoffman imo, who I think found Philly Hoffman in the playoffs, and would be a pretty nails as fuck setup guy if so. If not, he gets passed by a bunch of arms in the bullpen next year.

Williams
Hoffman
Armstrong/Ferguson
Varland

is a solid solid back end of a bullpen. Diaz would be nice, but he's not 10+ million dollars better than Williams.

My preference i think

Williams
Keller
Suarez
Helsley
Fairbanks.

Relief pitcher performance is hilariously variable, but even then, guys who were nails last year like Keller but dogshit the rest of their careers worry me. Suarez is good though, I wouldn't mind him (would open up the old Suarez-Suarez free agent introduction presser). Helsley I'd love but I can't see getting both him and Williams on cost and opportunity. I can't see both of them signing to play in a place where the closer situation is a 3 man knife fight. Fairbanks is good too. I mean, I'd like us to add 3 pen arms, but I think 2 is a more realistic expectation with the amount of dirt cheap "meh, good enough" guys we have in the org already.

I think the hope is one from the Williams/Helsley/Fairbanks/Suarez/Keller tier ( though you can make the case Suarez is above this and closer to Diaz, and Keller closer to the next one ) and one from the Armstrong/Weaver/Ferguson/Pagan/SerAnthony/Finnegan/Kenley/Martinez/Milner tier

We resigning Siranthony? Because I didn’t really care for him. He was kind of hit or miss when we needed him. Not a guy we could rely on when we needed.
