OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

So odd how much people undervalue Lukes. He has basically all the tools you want from an outfielder. He’s not a star, but I don’t think he’s a fourth OF on any team in the league.
Understanding that there is no CF to be had next year and you are looking at Bateman/RHH friend, are you comfortable with Barger/Lukes in the corners while understanding the INF, C, and DH are probably locked in?

If your answer is yes, then you are just running it back, which seems nuts.

I like many, like Lukes/Barger quite a bit, but they represent the easiest and obvious spots to upgrade the offense.

If Barger comes back and picks up where he left off last year, he's a stud. You don't need any upgrade there. But whether he will is unclear.

Having Lukes in LF is a good thing imo. I think he can hit 15-20 HRs if healthy and playing every day, which is lite but fine, as long as Barger is next level.

I just think, if all is well with the team (and not a shitshow like all year) those guys are positives in those positions, not negatives. CF is an issue, but if Bateman provides a great glove and can actually kinda hit, then I'm honestly comfortable with those three out there, at least to start and see how it goes.

Running it back with those guys plus Real Vladdy and a good DH, and all the other guys in place, is a very good team. There are a lot of ifs though, and the biggest among them is if Fake Vladdy is going to be back at it next year.

Lukes
Bateman (if passable)
Barger
Real Vladdy
Okamoto
Kirk
(Springer/new DH)
Clement
Gimenez

I like that team. But again, lots of ifs. Springer good still or new DH? Barger back and didn't miss a beat? Bateman can cut it? Real Vladdy or Fake Vladdy?

Also, not saying don't go get a LF that is significantly better than Lukes. Just saying that I don't have a problem with him at all if they can't.

I have a problem running it back, and i understand LF/RF is the only place to really upgrade it, at least in Free Agency, and at least not without moving someone off a position. Neither Lukes or Barger can be your best offensive OF if you want to be taken seriously. Happ/Suzuki/Arozarena/Ward are upgrades via FA, and Kwan and others perhaps via trade. I wish i knew more about the Japanese/Korean postings. Im hoping Kaz has an Seiya connection though

Barger is very good, but will be coming off a major surgery and still needs to sit vs most LHP until he proves otherwise. Unfortunatly he was hurt this yeaar so he wasnt give the chance to prove that.

There is zero chance both Santander and Springer are on the roster next year. It murders your flexibility, and i'd say there are better chances of neither, than George. They are probably financially obligated to see what a healthy Tony is.

Aside Valenzuela the bench needs a complete overhaul as well, especially the RHH component of it.
